215 affordable rental apartments are being constructed at Lomanlaan

Construction started last week at Lomanlaan! There will be two residential towers in Utrecht’s Transwijk-Zuid district, designed by De Zwarte Hond. They will have a striking appearance with powerful plasticity created by the prefabricated masonry facade and the deep recesses. With a solid concrete base 5 metres high, including a teahouse and town houses, the residential towers match the buildings of Transwijk in terms of height.

The strategic spacing of the towers restores the view from the neighbourhood onto the park. This is enhanced by underground parking for cars and bikes, with the greenery of the park becoming a continuous landscape.

Construction of the underground parking now started which is expected to take a year. After that is finished, the residential towers will be built. To minimise disturbance for local residents, innovative, low-noise methods are used. ERA Contour is responsible for development and construction of the apartments, the project is commissioned by Woonin.
