Municipal council of Haarlem confirms zoning plan for Beatrixplein
This positive result is the result of one and a half years of hard work on a beautiful and inclusive redevelopment of the Prinses Beatrixplein.
Centrally located in the post-war Parkwijk neighbourhood in Haarlem Oost, the Prinses Beatrixplein is undergoing renewal after 60 years. Qualities that are already present, such as the varied programme and the monumental trees, form a strong basis for a new heart of the neighbourhood. This includes high-quality public space, a mix of shops, housing, workplaces, recreational facilities, social amenities and a mobility hub. The special feature is the social programme along Beatrixdreef, which will be developed as a coherent system.
The subplans are now being further developed to ensure that the lively heart is well connected with the surrounding neighbourhoods. De Zwarte Hond is responsible for both the urban development plan and the architecture of a number of residential blocks and a supermarket.
In this project, we are working together with the municipality of Haarlem, Dreef Beheer B.V., Pré Wonen, and De Urbanisten.
