Concept perspective spatial future Koers op Zuid 2040 confirmed
“Changing while still remaining yourself, that’s Zuid, and can be done at Zuid.” The new future perspective for Rotterdam Zuid is established around this central message, to which we have contributed extensively with pride.
De Zwarte Hond has been working for years on Rotterdam Zuid projects at various scales. This has allowed us to increasingly understand the spatial and social challenges of this district. We believe that seeing Zuid as a city in itself rather than a district helps to move from challenges to solutions.
Huge developments are going to take place in Zuid in the coming period. That’s why we worked together with the Rotterdam City Council and SteenhuisMeurs on a new future perspective. This includes defining the existing strengths of Rotterdam Zuid, to serve as a guideline for developing a Zuid that remains true to itself. Based on this, and with the needs of both existing and future residents in mind, work will be carried out in the coming years to strengthen the area while maintaining cohesion.
We are not yet satisfied with the draft future perspective, both in terms of focus and specific objectives. Now is the time to move on, but how will the municipality work on this in concrete terms?
