A lively new urban district takes shape in Bremen
A new urban district with approximately 550 housing units, a day-care centre, a school and services will be developed on a 17 ha site beside the Werdersee lake in Bremen in Northern Germany. De Zwarte Hond and Urbanegestalt in Cologne are the designers of Gartenstadt (garden city). Together, they won the design competition in 2014. in the meantime the architecture of this new district is also beginning to take shape. For the western entrance to the district De Zwarte Hond designed two multifunctional buildings in which local shops, nursing and care facilities, and social housing are located.
