Board of Government Advisers, 2020: Naar een schaalsprong op de fiets

The Board of Government Advisers and the G4 (Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Utrecht and The Hague) commissioned a series of design studies around the question: how can bicycle use make a leap in scale, without the disadvantages overshadowing the advantages? In his introduction to the research results, Daan Zandbelt states that the solution lies in giving the city map more hierarchy and differentiation, creating different types of places and routes, each with its own balance between cyclists and other road users, and between traffic and accommodation.
