De Hoge Veluwe Park Pavilion wins International Architecture Award

We are proud to announce that the Park Pavilion of De Hoge Veluwe National Park, designed by De Zwarte Hond and Monadnock, is among the winners of the prestigious International Architecture Awards 2020, presented by the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and the Chicago Athenaeum.

The Park Pavilion is the visitor centre of De Hoge Veluwe National Park in Otterlo and includes a restaurant, a park shop and education and reception areas. It opened its doors in June 2019 and has since received much critical acclaim. It was nominated for Architectenweb Public Building of the Year 2019, the ARC19 Detail Award and the Reynaers Project Prize 2019. Winning the International Architecture Award shows that the building is now also attracting attention outside the Netherlands.

With the win, De Zwarte Hond and Monadnock are in good company. Other award winners in this year’s edition include Mecanoo (National Kaohsiung Centre for the Arts), MVRDV (Valley), Herzog & de Meuron (Jade Signature), Morphosis (Kolon One & Only Tower), Gehry Partners (Philadelphia Museum of Art) and Aedas (Hong Kong West Kowloon Station).
