Plans presented for the transformation of Kraftwerk Frimmersdorf
The Frimmersdorf power plant II in Grevenbroich served as the main electricity supplier for almost 70 years. After closing in 2021, it is now being transformed into a digital and innovation centre.
This week, high-ranking political and business representatives – including Minister for Regional Identity, Communities and Local Government, Building and Digitalisation Ina Scharrenbach of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia – presented the plans in the central power plant building.
On behalf of Stadt Grevenbroich, we supported the framework planning for this exciting, large-scale transformation project. We formulated nine development goals that will guide the transformation and form the basis for the spatial and functional planning.
