Quality Plan for CID unanimously confirmed
The Hague city council recently approved the Central Innovation District (CID) quality plan. This plan concerns the area between and around the three stations Den Haag Centraal, HS and Laan van NOI. We are pleased that, with this confirmation, the municipality of The Hague is taking more control on the quality of new districts.
The Quality Plan facilitates a densification transformation of the CID with more coherence and enduring quality. This is not only about what it will look like later, but also how the area will function and be future-proof. Based on typical The Hague characteristics (3 ‘Core Qualities’) and tasks for the future (7 ‘Quality Tasks’), cohesion within the CID becomes the primary qualitative ambition.
Earlier, we made the area’s structural vision which provides a rich mix of housing, work, facilities and greenery. The Quality Plan is a sequel and outlines how this high-quality urbanity can – and must – come about. Because as Alderman Robert van Asten says “We only have one chance to do it right.” That is why we strive for Eternal Beauty with this quality plan.
