Three architecture prizes for De Zwarte Hond in one weekend
On the national “Day of Architecture” last weekend, various architecture prizes were presented in the Netherlands. Two of De Zwarte Hond’s buildings were distinguished with a total of three prizes. De Twingel community school in Drenthe was awarded the jury prize and in Groningen the Cappuvino wine/coffee bar won both the jury prize and the prize awarded by the public. De Twingel was praised for its attractive integration in its rural environment and the "spatial adventure” inside. And, regarding Cappuvino, the jury remarked that it is an exceptional, new recreational addition to the Vismarkt. “Playful”, “chic”, “a courageous design” according to the voters on the Groninger Architectuur Enquête website. Jeroen de Willigen, Managing Director of De Zwarte Hond says “i am very proud, winning three prizes in one weekend doesn’t happen every day and it demonstrates that, together with our clients, we always set the bar high everywhere."
