De Zwarte Hond designs Toren Niko in Eindhoven

The 109-metre-high Niko Tower, currently under construction in Eindhoven, will be – for the time being – Eindhoven’s highest (residential) tower. The project is located in Strijp-S, a relatively new work and residential area on the former industrial site that housed Philips’ factories until the mid-20th century. Now the neighbourhood is becoming home to a diverse community. In the tower design, the staggered heights are aligned with surrounding buildings in the immediate vicinity. Its façade will be clad in grey and white brick with golden-yellow aluminum frames. The upright windows and vertical lines emphasise the height of the tower. The building will accommodate 333 free-sector rental apartments, varying between 40 and 110m2. In addition, there will also be three larger penthouses. On the ground floor, there is room for liveliness and entertainment: space is being made for creative and contemporary shopping, catering and cultural concepts.

The project is being realised on behalf of Spoorzone B.V., a collaboration between SDK Vastgoed and VolkerWessels. Construction started in October and is expected to be completed in 2025.
