500+ pages of inspiring schools

Published by Schooldomein, the book Samenwerken aan de School voor Morgen – inspiratieboek 2015-2020 (Collaborating on the School of Tomorrow) has been launched on 23 June. This chunky 500-page book features more than 100 projects built for primary and secondary education in the last five years. Three projects by De Zwarte Hond are featured: De Glashorst in Scherpenzeel (primary school), De Kruidentuin in Barendrecht (primary school, daycare and sports hall) and Noorderhuis in Noordeloos (primary school, daycare centre, community centre and sports hall). Transparent and energy neutral, Noorderhuis graces the cover of the book.

Besides highlighting new projects, the inspiration book offers valuable information about recent developments in innovative learning environments and provides trend analyses about innovative learning and how buildings integrate with their sites. The book features contributions by Floris Alkemade, Harold Bekkering, Henk Oosterling, Thomas Rau, Marco van Zandwijk, Atto Harsta and Sjef Drummen. Finally the publication presents research about the teachers’ experiences of the learning and work environment.

With its stunning photography and engaging texts, Samenwerken aan de School voor Morgen offers inspiration to encourage future commissioners to build attractive and sustainable schools where students and teachers will thrive for years to come. De Zwarte Hond is proud to have participated in this book!
