The research by De Zwarte Hond into exemplary mid-sized European cities continues.

After successful presentations in Graz, Groningen, and Mainz, the exhibition Bold City, Brave Decisions: How the City of Groningen Transformed Itself into an Exemplary City is now traveling to Rotterdam. During the Rotterdam Architecture Month, the exhibition will be on display in the Keilezaal of the Keilepand in the M4H district.

With this traveling exhibition, De Zwarte Hond aims to inspire both citizens and experts to actively engage in thinking about the city and its future. The focus lies on the public and political dimensions of urban development and on fostering exchange between residents.

Each year, Rotterdam Architecture Month critically reflects on urban policy and recent developments in the city. This year’s special focus is on the Schiemond district – located along the Nieuwe Maas, known for its rich history and unique urban dynamics.

Through conversations with residents and policymakers during the Bold City, Brave Decisions exhibition, the question is explored: what bold decisions are needed to make Rotterdam an exemplary city? De Zwarte Hond will incorporate these insights into a recommendation to the city as part of their broader research into (mid-sized) European cities.
