Tender

Courtyard Tender in development

Apartment complex Tender completed in the Grunobuurt

Designed by De Zwarte Hond, this is the seventh building that was realised in the Grunobuurt. Tender comprises 115 rental apartments, most of them social rent, a communal green courtyard and wadis for rainwater storage.

The building has a playful design with a recognisable red brick colour. The details also have variation and variety, for example the number of floors, width, and accents in the brickwork. For this project and the redevelopment of the Grunobuurt in general, we worked closely together with Trebbe and Nijestee. The realisation of this project again nicely demonstrates how we changed the process by involving all parties directly and as early as possible in the design process.

Architect and partner Erik Roerdink explained earlier in Vastgoedjournaal.nl that this allowed us to “respond better to the contractor’s specific building system and to utilise that as much as possible. Firstly, that ensured we didn’t have to take out inefficiencies afterwards. And secondly, we were able to take full advantage of Trebbe’s construction system, which allowed us to invest more in a high-quality end result. The architecture and type of brick, for example, closely match the existing buildings in the area.”
