Bold City, Brave Decisions. Now in Osnabrück.
The traveling exhibition by De Zwarte Hond is heading to a new city. From June 6 through August 30, “Bold City, Brave Decisions. How Groningen Became a Model City” will be on view at MIK Museum Industriekultur Osnabrück, in collaboration with the Association for Building Culture Osnabrück.
The exhibition raises a question that lies at the heart of De Zwarte Hond’s daily practice: what does it take to keep cities liveable — now and in the future? Using Groningen as a case study, the exhibition explores how bold long-term decisions can sustainably transform a city over decades, guided by three principles: continuity, collectivity, and compactness.
After stops in Graz, Groningen, Mainz, and Rotterdam, the exhibition continues the European conversation about the cities of tomorrow in Germany. In Osnabrück, the exhibition takes on a local dimension — a new chapter in which residents are invited to share their own ideas and visions for the city. Because Groningen is not a blueprint, but a source of inspiration.
Opening: Friday, June 5, 2026, 6:00 PM, MIK Osnabrück — featuring a keynote by Matthias Rottmann. Click here to get your free ticket.
