Future Walk Elsdorf – On the Way to the Hafenbalkon

How will Elsdorf change in the coming years? What kind of new places will emerge between the town centre and the edge of the opencast mine? And how can residents get involved in shaping this development?

The ‘Future Walk’ is an invitation to walk along, think along and help shape what comes next. It starts on Friday, 12 June, at 3 pm at the town hall.

At the Hafenbalkon Elsdorf, a new urban space by the water will be created in the future. Until then, the area will be made accessible for leisure activities and events. De Zwarte Hond has developed an overall concept for the temporary use of the Hafenbalkon.
During the walk, residents can get to know planned urban development projects on site. At various stops along the route, De Zwarte Hond and the City of Elsdorf will present the ideas.

Along the route, residents will also encounter the Zukunftsboje, the first tangible step towards the Hafenbalkon. As a mobile information and event pavilion, it will move through Elsdorf in the future, bring people together and encourage conversations about the town’s future. It turns the development of the Hafenbalkon into an open and shared process.
