During the Building for Eternity event organised by the KNB at Nieuwspoort, Erik Roerdink represented De Zwarte Hond and shared our experience with hybrid construction.
Drawing on projects such as Alliander Westpoort, Couchette in Groningen, and the recently completed Midwerk, he demonstrated how biobased materials and brick façades can complement one another. This combination not only contributes to CO₂ reduction but also supports architecture that creates sustainable, high-quality and attractive living environments—buildings that respond to their context, age gracefully and stand the test of time.
It was valuable to exchange perspectives with representatives from academia, politics and the construction industry. It is precisely through this kind of collaboration that we can create a built environment founded on realistic sustainability standards and long-term value.
