New architecture partner Erik Roerdink

De Zwarte Hond’s office in Groningen has increased its partner team with architect Erik Roerdink (1982). After graduating, Erik embarked on his career at De Zwarte Hond. He subsequently made the switch to DAAD Architecten in Beilen where he worked while also studying at the Academie voor Bouwkunst. Here he developed into a passionate and bold designer. Erik creates cross-connections between people, always maintains an overview on all scale levels and ensures that ambition and reality are attuned.

“What most appeals to me about De Zwarte Hond is the ten-strong partner team. A highly experienced collective with a broad spectrum of knowledge so we can achieve the maximum output for every assignment”, says Erik regarding his career move. “i believe my expertise in the field of circularity and earthquake resistant construction is a valuable addition. These are assignments that, in my view, also offer major opportunities for tackling other societal problems at the same time.” Erik Roerdink and his team’s first achievements are: the new urban district, Hart van de Waalsprong, in Nijmegen, and diverse studies into earthquake resistant construction.
