Sophisticated concept for cultural centre Sojus 7 in Monheim am Rhein
Commissioned by the city of Monheim am Rhein, De Zwarte Hond will undertake the expansion of Sojus 7. This cultural centre with concert and theatre hall, gallery, media workshop, atelier and catering facilities offers a wide range of possibilities for this small city near to Cologne. Next to the former syrup refinery (“Krautfabrik”), which will be extensively refurbished while preserving a number of the historical parts, the future complex will comprise a new, three storey building where numerous activities will be held. Many people in Monheim will benefit from the anticipated cultural added value. in this way the existing youth and culture scene will acquire a stable location for music, theatre, cabaret and club life.
