Workshop Building Relations: How Do We Build Livable Cities?
Saturday November 15, De Zwarte Hond participated for the third time in Building Relations at RWTH Aachen University. This event, organized by architecture students, brings together students, young professionals, and design and planning offices to strengthen the connection between education and practice. During workshops and discussions, participants engaged in dialogue with a total of sixteen firms.
In our workshop “The Courageous City”, we focused on one central question: How can we create cities that are truly livable, sustainable, and inclusive , and that can grow alongside their inhabitants?
Together with the students, we explored various renewal strategies related to building typologies, mixed use, mobility, public space, and social infrastructure. These insights were then organized and applied in quick design exercises across different urban contexts.
