Housing for the New Generation

On Thursday, October 30, Lisa van der Slot from De Zwarte Hond will speak at the High-Rise Conference about housing layouts for young people.

For starters and young adults (18–35), finding a good and affordable home in the city is increasingly difficult. Yet this group is essential for creating a vibrant and future-proof urban environment. How can high-rise buildings contribute to solutions? And what pitfalls should we be aware of?

During the event “Living for the New Generation,” organized by Stichting Hoogbouw, Young ULI, BOSS Alumni, and BOSS Students, students, designers, developers, and investors will come together to discuss these questions. The participants are young and will soon be the ones shaping the future.

Location: Terraced Tower, Rotterdam
Date: October 30, 2025
Time: 16:00–19:00

With contributions from, among others, Edvard van Luijn (SSH), Filip Pliakis, Charlot Schans (Stipo), Emiel Arends (Municipality of Rotterdam), Lisa van der Slot (De Zwarte Hond), and Paul Oremus (CBRE). Together, they will discuss housing needs and explore concrete solutions in an open dialogue between the new generation and representatives from the market, government, and politics.
