Start construction Skymark

With the start of construction, The Hague will gain a new landmark in its skyline. The approximately 101-meter-tall tower anchors the transformation of the Binckhorst: from an industrial area into a mixed-use, high-density urban residential district with international appeal. Alongside Skymark, BoogieWood, designed by De Zwarte Hond and OZ, is also rising as part of this development.

Skymark will accommodate 340 homes, including 102 social rental dwellings for Haag Wonen and 68 mid-range rental homes for Amvest. De Zwarte Hond designed the tower as a layered urban building composed of three clearly recognizable levels: eyeline, cityline, and skyline. The podium is designed at a human scale and combines social housing with a double-height makers’ space at street level. This gives the building “eyes on the street” and makes it clearly identifiable as a residential building at ground level. The rounded outer corners improve wind conditions and contribute to a pleasant quality of stay around the building. Refined materialization, green masonry, and dark bronze-colored aluminum window frames give Skymark a distinctive identity.

The completion of Skymark is scheduled for 2027.
