Alliander Westpoort double winner of the Amsterdam Architecture Prize 2024!
Yesterday was a special night in De Duif in Amsterdam! De Zwarte Hond won both the professional and public award of the prestigious AAP (Amsterdam Architecture Prize) with the new regional office Alliander Westpoort. We were told that a double win is rare, this is only the third time in AAP history that a building has won both awards! To say we are proud is therefore a huge understatement.
The professional jury praised the building’s seamless integration with its environment, enhanced by the welcoming atrium, as an example of innovative and community-oriented architecture. The regional office also acts as a living laboratory for new technological developments.
In addition, the public jury was impressed with the building’s thoughtful mix of functions and spatial layout. These foster a sense of inclusivity and equality for everyone who enters, regardless of background or position.
Of course, we would like to thank our client Alliander, all participating parties involved and our De Zwarte Hond Alliander team for their long-standing commitment and outstanding cooperation!
