Area Vision The Sporting Heart of Heerenveen Adopted
In close collaboration with the Municipality of Heerenveen, the vision prepared by De Zwarte Hond on behalf of the municipality was unanimously adopted last week.
The area between the center of Heerenveen and Skoatterwâld is unique on a national scale. While it currently feels like an urban fringe zone, in the coming years it will transform into a vibrant inner-city campus with approximately 800 new homes.
The vision outlines the transformation of the Sportstad area, including the Abe Lenstra Stadium and the Epke Zonderland Gymnastics Center, into a place where sports, education, and work come together, providing a significant boost to the quality of the public space.
De Zwarte Hond has already started working on the first detailed plans.
