Kraftwerksdörfer Masterplan Frimmersdorf and Neurath

Many communities face structural change as a result of the phase-out of lignite mining in the Rheinish mining area. What kind of future do we envision for the lives of these residents?

On behalf of the Stadt Grevenbroich and in collaboration with RMP Stephan Lenzen Landschaftsarchitekten, De Zwarte Hond is currently drawing up a structural plan for the future development of both villages. Even if the necessary spatial changes for both villages are far-reaching and challenging, they also offer great opportunities to positively influence the future quality of life.

As a start, the city of Grevenbroich recently invited De Zwarte Hond and RMPSL on a walk through the village together with residents. The main goals were to identify potential locations for short and long-term measures and discuss desired improvements for the two villages with the residents. Next, a village conference is expected to be held in June. Then we will present the results of the village walk and develop further measures with local citizens in a workshop.

The Kraftwerksdörfer masterplan is supported by Starke Projekte – an initiative of the Ministry of Regional Identity, Communities and Local Government, Building and Digitalization of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
