Suppe & Brot – a table conversation
We believe we should talk more with one another.
Of course, about urbanism and architecture, but also about society, the world, politics, change, courage, ideas, the big picture that is in constant motion, and the small things that move us. We’re curious about what others think.
And we believe we should share more meals with one another.
That’s why De Zwarte Hond has created a space for it. The event is as simple as its title. We call it “Suppe & Brot”.
People gather around a table, share ideas, experiences, and beliefs – a place that both connects and separates. It opens space for diversity, where different perspectives can exist side by side without claiming a single truth. Still, the aim of the conversation isn’t consensus, but to create a shared world of meaning.
Last month, “Suppe & Brot” took place for the first time in our exhibition “Optimistic Activism” at the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin. For this occasion, we developed the tableware “Ensemble” together with the Dutch porcelain manufacturer Cor Unum from Den Bosch.
It was rich in perspectives, beautiful – and lekker.
