Anyone who wants to build a city worth living in needs courage, patience and foresight to anticipate social changes. One way how cities can achieve this is now on display in Germany.
Yesterday we opened our exhibition “Bold City, Brave Decisions – How Groningen Became a Model City” in the Zentrum Baukultur Rheinland-Pfalz in Mainz. The traveling exhibition showcases urban transformation challenges and solutions which lead to Groningen being one of the most attractive and livable mid-size cities in Europe.
“Let’s redefine the future of urbanism together”, says Jeroen De Willigen, partner at De Zwarte Hond and former city architect in Groningen. “This exhibition, conceived as a platform, aims to inspire and foster discussions on urban development, while innovating the way participation can be applied.”
To celebrate more Bold Cities and their Brave Decisions De Zwarte Hond launched a dedicated website where bold decisions from around Europe can be gathered and shared. From Wuppertal to Paris the website shows city transformation projects and processes in all scales.
Want to join a bold discussion? Share your ideas about the future of city-planning with us in Mainz or go to www.bold-cities.com to explore more.
From Mainz the exhibition will travel to Rotterdam in June and Tilburg in November. If you are interested in showcasing the exhibition in your city, please contact us at: pr@dezwartehond.nl
