De Zwarte Hond works on the urban design plan for the Hilversum Station area
De Zwarte Hond and OKRA landscape architects are setting to work on the urban design plan for the Hilversum station area. Based on a vision created by OKRA, the local council has formulated a programme of requirements that forms the input for the future plan for the station area. Important aspects include connecting the station to the centre, improving accessibility and enlivening the station area.
On Thursday 12 January the first proposal was presented to residents and other interested parties. This included a plan in which two different routes lead to the centre and a fourth Hilversum square is created. This plan will be elaborated further in a participation phase in which local residents and others, including entrepreneurs and transport companies, will take part. The goal is to agree on a preliminary design by the spring.
