More Space, Less Nuisance: A Future Vision for the Schiphol Region
Commissioned by the Board of Government Advisors (CRa), De Zwarte Hond conducted a spatial exploration into a sustainable and future-proof development of the Schiphol region.
The report outlines an inspiring vision in which quality of life, housing, nature, mobility, and aviation are brought into balance.
The conclusion is clear: it is possible.
Less disruption from air traffic, while still making room for housing and business locations.
By reorganizing both airspace and ground infrastructure, Schiphol and its airlines, as well as the residents of the surrounding region, can look forward to a future with perspective and security.
This approach leads to fewer people experiencing nuisance, and creates substantial space for additional housing – all without reducing the number of flights at Schiphol.
The report calls for collaboration and offers a shared vision for the future that strengthens both the region’s livability and economic vitality.
