New Haven – The next step in the transformation of Metro Center Spijkenisse

The area surrounding the metro and bus station of Metro Center Spijkenisse is being given a completely new identity. In the near future, the station, together with two distinctive residential towers designed by De Zwarte Hond, will form a vibrant new gateway to the city center. New Haven (Block A), located on P.J. Bliekstraat, is part of this area redevelopment.

The generous plinth of New Haven, featuring various commercial functions, activates the street and connects the city center with the station. Now that the aesthetics committee has approved the design, we are taking the next step toward creating a lively, safe, and attractive urban environment, and the apartments will soon go on sale.

New Haven will offer compact, affordable apartments that respond to the strong demand for starter homes in Spijkenisse. The building comprises five residential floors with a total of 145 apartments, including 87 sustainable and energy-efficient owner-occupied homes. The combination of owner-occupied and rental units ensures a diverse mix of residents, fitting this new urban development.

With New Haven, young people are given the opportunity to remain living in their own city, while the metro at their doorstep provides a fast and direct connection to the center of Rotterdam.
