Walk in Jena: Kick-off for the Framework Plan
The city center of Jena is best understood on foot. At the start of the framework plan process, De Zwarte Hond, Gruppe F and 1komma2 took part in a kick-off walk through the historic city center together with representatives from the municipality – working in the fields of climate, mobility and urban development – as well as local business owners and cultural stakeholders.
Our interdisciplinary team of urban planners, landscape architects and mobility experts used the walk to explore current developments in context, better understand routes and connections, and analyze public spaces.
The direct exchange between the municipality and the planning team was particularly valuable. Combined with on-site observations, it provides a strong foundation for the next steps. In this way, the framework plan grows out of the city’s everyday reality – forward-looking and in tune with Jena’s distinctive character.
We look forward to continuing the collaboration and to further shaping the structural and spatial future of the city center together.
