De Zwarte Hond designs new Amsterdam regional office for Alliander
The network company Alliander will be leaving its business premises on Spaklerweg in Amsterdam in 2023. The parent company of network manager Liander, among others, is moving its regional office to the Sloterdijk iii business park. The current establishment’s long lease of the land will expire in 2025 and cannot be extended.
in consultation with the municipality of Amsterdam, a new location was sought to realize a new office and a plot in the Sloterdijk iii area was chosen. The land has since been purchased and De Zwarte Hond was selected as an architect through a tendering process. The coming year will be used to go through the licensing and design process. Construction is scheduled to start in mid-2021.
The building comprises offices, storage, workshop spaces and parking. Alliander’s brief specified a circular and future-proof building to be ready in 2023. At this prominent site located along the railway, the A5 highway and Basisweg, high expectations will be placed on the architecture.
